年齢プロフィール - 和暦・厄年・数え年

A family profile book for Japan: age, wareki dates, kazoedoshi, zodiac, yakudoshi, and longevity milestones.

Overview

年齢プロフィール (Age Profile) is a Japanese family profile book for iPhone. Save the birthdays of parents, grandparents, children, and relatives, and see at a glance each person's current age, kazoedoshi (traditional East Asian age counting), birth date and current year in wareki (Japanese era calendar: Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, Reiwa), Chinese zodiac animal, star sign, common yakudoshi (traditionally inauspicious years) guidance, and longevity celebrations such as kanreki (60th) and koki (70th).

Questions like "How old is grandpa this year?", "When is my yakudoshi?", or "Which year is the kanreki celebration?" are answered in one place, without looking up conversion tables. The Birthdays tab lists your family's birthdays for the coming year in date order, showing who is next, what age (and kazoedoshi age) they turn, and who is in a yakudoshi year. A built-in converter switches dates between the Western calendar and wareki across all five modern eras — handy for Japanese resumes, application forms, and paperwork at government offices — and can read non-existent era dates such as Heisei 32 or Showa 100 as the correct Western year and era. It also shows a child's current school year and the entrance and graduation years from elementary school through university.

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show this year's wareki and the next birthday or milestone. Everything is stored on your device: no account, no ads, and profiles are never sent to external servers automatically. The app presents yakudoshi and celebration years as common cultural guidance only — it makes no claims about fortune, misfortune, or health.

FAQ

Is the app free?

Yes, it is free to download and use, with up to 2 saved profiles in the free version. A one-time Plus purchase (not a subscription) unlocks unlimited profiles. Check the App Store listing for current pricing.

Where is my family's data stored?

Everything is stored locally on your device. Profiles are not sent to external servers, there is no account, and the app uses no ads, tracking, or analytics SDKs.

What is wareki and which eras does the app support?

Wareki is the Japanese era calendar used on official documents. The app converts dates across the five modern eras — Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa — correctly handles the dates where eras change, and can read non-existent notations such as Heisei 32 or Showa 100 as the right Western year and era.

What are yakudoshi and kazoedoshi?

Yakudoshi are years traditionally considered inauspicious in Japan, which differ for men and women. Kazoedoshi is the traditional age counting where you are 1 at birth. The app shows both as common cultural guidance, without any claims about fortune or misfortune.

Can it remind me about birthdays and celebrations?

Yes. You can set notifications for birthdays and for longevity celebrations such as kanreki (60th) and koki (70th).

Can I see whose birthday is next?

Yes. The Birthdays tab lists your family's birthdays for the coming year in date order, showing who is next, what age and kazoedoshi age they turn, and marking anyone in a yakudoshi year.

Does it have a widget?

Yes. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show this year's wareki and the next birthday or milestone.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The app itself uses no external APIs, so everything works without an internet connection.

Is this a fortune-telling app?

No. Yakudoshi and celebration years are shown only as widely used cultural reference points. The app makes no statements about luck, misfortune, health, or religious effect.
