Today Ready
Don't read the forecast, get the answer: what to wear, whether to bring a layer, and whether you need an umbrella today.
Overview
Today Ready is a weather app that skips the forecast and gives you the answer. It turns local weather into the choices you make before leaving: what to wear, whether to bring a layer, and whether you need an umbrella.
The free app gives you today's outfit, layer, and umbrella answer, one morning notification, a runs-cold or runs-hot adjustment, and Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. There is no account, no ads, and no tracking.
Optional Today Ready Pro, an auto-renewable subscription, adds an alert the moment you leave home (set up once with a Shortcuts automation, with no "Always" location access and never more than one alert a day), the whole family's outfits at once, going-out and coming-home advice, tomorrow's answer the evening before, up to three saved places, forecasts through the weekend when available, and weekday notification choices. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.

Pricing
Today Ready is free to download. Today's answer, the morning notification, the runs-cold and runs-hot adjustment, and the widgets are free. Today Ready Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription, billed monthly or yearly, with a 1-week free trial for eligible new subscribers, and it supports Family Sharing. Your saved places, family and settings are not deleted when a subscription ends, and current-location weather and all free features remain available. Check the App Store listing for current prices and details.
Privacy
Today Ready uses your location only to fetch local weather for its answers, and does not store your location on a server. There is no account, no tracking, and no ads, and the app does not sell personal data. Weather comes from Apple Weather. If you use Pro, saved places and family settings are kept on your device. The widget never requests location or fetches weather itself — it only reads the latest snapshot the app saved locally in an App Group container. Subscriptions are handled by Apple, and the app does not receive your payment details.

FAQ
Is Today Ready free?
Yes. It is free to download, and today's outfit, layer, and umbrella answer, one morning notification, the runs-cold and runs-hot adjustment, and the widgets are free, with no account, ads, or tracking. An optional Pro subscription adds more. Check the App Store listing for current prices.
What is Today Ready Pro?
Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription, billed monthly or yearly, with a 1-week free trial for eligible new subscribers. It adds the leaving-home alert, family outfits, going-out and coming-home advice, tomorrow's answer the evening before, up to three saved places, forecasts through the weekend when available, and weekday notification choices. It supports Family Sharing. If it ends, your saved places, family and settings are kept, and all free features remain available.
What does the app do with my location?
Location is used only to fetch local weather so the app can show your outfit, layer, and umbrella answer. It is not stored on a server, and there is no account or tracking.
Does Today Ready have a widget?
Yes. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets are free. They show the latest answer the app saved, and may ask you to open the app to refresh.
Where does the weather data come from?
Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.
Is this a full forecast app?
No, by design. Today Ready shows the answer to what to wear and what to carry today rather than charts and detailed forecasts.
How does the leaving-home alert work?
In Today Ready Pro, you set up a Shortcuts automation once, triggered when your home Wi-Fi disconnects, the charger comes off, or your alarm stops. You are then told your umbrella and outfit as you leave. It does not need "Always" location access, and you never get more than one alert a day.
Can I see my family's outfits?
Yes, with Today Ready Pro. Add each person's name, icon and runs-cold or runs-hot setting, and see everyone's outfit on the home screen and in notifications. The umbrella answer is shared.
