OCR Copy
Copy text from camera, live scan, or photos with on-device OCR — save it locally and copy it again later.
Overview
OCR Copy is a local-first OCR utility for quickly copying text from the real world. Use live scan, take a photo, or pick an image from your library, and the app reads the text on your device with Apple Vision so you can copy it right away — receipts, books, packages, screenshots, signs, and other everyday text.
Instead of a heavy document manager or a cloud OCR service, OCR Copy keeps the job small and private: read text, copy it, done. When recognition isn't perfect, you can edit or delete individual lines while the original OCR result is kept as the source, and confidence values and text positions are available as optional detail information rather than intrusive scores.
Saved text stays on your device so you can come back and copy it again later. If Auto detection doesn't read your text well, OCR language settings let you choose modes like Japanese + English, Korean + English, Chinese + English, or European languages, and switch between Accurate and Fast recognition.

FAQ
Is OCR Copy free?
Yes. OCR Copy is free with no subscriptions or in-app monetization. App Store pricing can change, so check the listing for current details.
Are my photos or text uploaded anywhere?
No. Text recognition runs on your device with Apple Vision, and photos, text, and corrections are stored locally. The app uses no external networking, no account, and no tracking or analytics SDKs.
What languages can it read?
Auto detection plus selectable modes: Japanese + English, English, Korean + English, Simplified Chinese + English, Traditional Chinese + English, and European languages. You can also switch between Accurate and Fast recognition.
What if the OCR result has mistakes?
You can edit or delete individual lines. The original OCR result is kept as the source, so your corrections never destroy the raw reading. Lines with low confidence are flagged for review when detail display is enabled.
Can I save text and come back to it later?
Yes. Saved text is stored locally on your device and appears on the Home screen, where you can reopen and copy it again anytime.
Does it read handwriting or vertical Japanese text?
The app targets printed text in photos and camera shots. Vertical Japanese text and complex page layouts are not primary supported use cases in the current version.
Do I need camera access?
Camera access is needed for live scan and camera capture, but you can also pick existing images from your photo library with the system picker.
